Equipment Storage Lockers for the Palmyra Police Department
The men’s and women’s locker rooms were equipped with school-style lockers when the Palmyra Police Department’s built their facility in the 1990s. However, the lockers only measured 12 inches wide and 12 inches deep and quickly became insufficient for storing the officers’ uniforms and law enforcement gear.
The Department decided it was time to replace the cramped lockers and maximize the storage space of the outdated locker rooms. The new lockers needed to provide adequate space for uniforms, gear, and personal effects and stay within the existing floor space and room height. There were also old benches in the center of the floors eating up valuable floor space and making it challenging to maneuver around the room.
Datum worked with the Palmyra Police Department to design and build custom GearStor lockers with attached benches. The fully-welded steel lockers measure 18 inches wide by 24 inches deep by 84 inches high, supplying the officers with adequate room to store jackets, boots, shoes, duty gear, and patrol bags. Adjustable shelves, garment rods, and interior compartments give officers the option to rearrange storage space to suit their unique storage needs. Each locker includes a bottom drawer with a separate lock to secure private property. In addition, the new attached benches provide a place to sit and freed up valuable floor space. The durable powder-coated finish in tech blue worked with the Department’s color scheme and will hold up to years of wear and tear.
“After 20 years, our officers have ample storage space for their uniforms and equipment. This has worked as a morale booster for all of our staff.” – Chief Scott Pearlman | Palmyra Police Department | Palmyra, New Jersey
Datum’s custom-built lockers provided the Palmyra Police Department the flexible, secure storage the officers needed to maximize the available space of their lockers rooms and optimize efficiency.
